Adding a Wiki Article

When adding an article to the wiki, ensure you're in the correct level to avoid placing your article in the wrong section of the course wiki.

  • To move down a level in the wiki, click See all children.
  • To move up, click the appropriate level in the breadcrumb links at the top of the page.

Add Articles at the Same Level

To add a wiki article at your current level, follow these steps. If you lack permission to add an article, a “Permission Denied” message will appear when you try.

  1. Select Wiki in your course.
  2. Navigate to the level where you want to add the new article.
  3. Click the Add Article button in the top-right corner.
  4. On the new article page, provide a title for your article and optionally add a "slug" to create a specific location identifier.
  5. Add content to your article. You can use plain text and Markdown syntax for formatting. For help with Markdown, click the cheat sheet link at the upper-right corner of the Contents field.
  6. Once you've finished entering content, click Create Article.

Add Articles Below the Current Level

To add a child article below the current article, follow these steps. If you lack permission to add an article, you will see a “Permission Denied” message when you try.

  1. Select Wiki in your course.
  2. Navigate to the level above where you want to add the child article.
  3. Click See all children.
  4. Select the Add Article button under the wiki title.
  5. On the new article page, provide a title for your article and optionally add a "slug" to create a specific location identifier.
  6. Add content to your article. You can use plain text and Markdown syntax for formatting. For help with Markdown, click the cheat sheet link at the upper-right corner of the Contents field.
  7. Once you’re done, click Create Article.
