Receive Your Score and Provide Feedback

You will receive your score for an open response assessment after completing the following steps:

  • Submitted your response to the question.
  • Completed assessment training (if required).
  • Performed the required number of peer assessments.
  • Completed a self-assessment (if applicable).
  • Received the required number of peer assessments on your work.
  • Received a staff assessment (if included in the assignment).

If peer assessments are still in progress, you will see the following message under the Assess Your Response step:

Your Grade: Waiting for Peer Assessment
"Your response is still being assessed by peers. Once peer assessments are complete, you will see their feedback and receive your final grade."

If you see this message, check back periodically until peer assessments are finalized.

View Your Score

Once peer assessments are complete, you can view:

  • The scores given by peers (if no staff assessment is included).
  • Your self-assessment score (if applicable).
  • Comments provided by peers.

If the assignment includes a staff assessment, you will receive your final grade once a course team member has reviewed your response. While peer scores and comments are still visible in the grading details, the staff grade serves as the final grade.

Provide Feedback on Peer Assessments

If desired, you can leave feedback on the peer scores you received. This option is available under Provide Feedback on Peer Assessments.

View Top Responses (Optional)

Some assignments feature a Top Responses section, showcasing the highest-scoring submissions for each question.

  • If included in your assignment, this section will become available only after you have completed all required steps.
